MOTUS danza je plesna Kompanija iz Sijene (Italija), koju podržavaju region Toskana i okrug Sijena. Kompanija je bazirana u Okružnom pozorištu u Sijeni.

MOTUS danza je osnovala Simona Cieri, koreograf i plesačica sa snažnom klasičnom naobrazbom, koja naknadno izučava moderni, džez i savremeni ples.
Kompanija je počela sa umjetničkim radom 1991. pod imenom Duncaniando i producirala je tri originalne predstave, Profilo di donna, Arti magiche i Recitango.
Posljednja je obilježila početak saradnje sa Rosannom Cieri, koja je, kao novinarka i pisac, ostala autor predstava Kompanije u narednim godinama. Od tog trenutka, sestre Rosanna i Simona Cieri skupa režiraju sve predstave Kompanije.

Kako je brzo počela napredovati I postala jedan od najzanimljivijih plesnih teatara u Italiji (nagrada za koreografiju 1994. Spello) 1994. Kompanija dobiva novo ime, MOTUS danza.

Pod ovim imenom, kompanija je započela punom parom sarađivati sa Siena okrugom i Toskanskom fondacijom za spektakl, kao i sa ARTEUROPA FESTIVAL, koji je bio koproducent predstave State zitti se potete iz 1998.

Simona Ceri je u 2000, kao kreativni direktor, osnovala Međunarodni Centar za Umjetnost Sijena, gdje je program i rad MOTUS-a na svom mjestu. Danas je Centar poznata plesna škola interdisciplinarnog karaktera, gdje studenti mogu naučiti sve umjetničke discipline povezane sa teatrom i plesom i mogu učiti u fazama koje su vođene od strane međunarodno priznatih majstora baleta (Maitre de Ballet). MOTUS danza pravi turneje u svim glavnim teatrima u Italiji i preko granice po pozivu na međunarodne festivale.

Koreografski stil je originalan I bogat te koristi multimedijski izraz.

Njihov rad ima pozorišni i emotivni utjecaj bilo da se radi o apstraktnom plesu ili o plesnom pozorištu

Performans:
Confini (GRANICE) koristi multimedijalni jezik napravljen od tijela, muzike i slika. Osnovni estetski izbor je neprestana interakcija između prizora i pokreta na sceni. U ovom smislu, prostor predviđen za izvedbu je amplificiran jer pokret može započeti na videu i da se nastavi na sceni ili može početi na sceni i da se nastavi na videu. Ovaj izbor je također povezan sa argumentuom jer granice mogu biti prisutne u radu ili mogu nestati.
Uglavnom svi prizori su elaborisani, a koreografija i video su potpuno komplementarni. Rezultat ima snažan vizualni utjecaj, pa publika nekada ima poteškoća da razlikuje šta je realno a šta je virtualno.

Theatre:
MOTUS danza is a dance Company based in Siena (Italy), supported by the Tuscany Region and the Siena Municipality. The Company is resident in the Municipal Theatre of Siena.

MOTUS danza was founded by Simona Cieri, choreographer and dancer with a strong classical background, who subsequently studied in depth modern, jazz and contemporary dance.

The Company, firstly named Duncaniando, begun the artistic activity in 1991 and produced three original plays, Profilo di donna, Arti magiche e Recitango. This last marked the beginning of the collaboration with Rosanna Cieri, journalist and writer, that remained the author of the Company plays in the subsequent years. From that moment, the sisters Rosanna and Simona Cieri directed together all the plays of the Company.In 1994, as the company quickly grew to be recognised as one of the most interesting young dance companies in Italy (confirmed by National Awards such as the Prize for Choreography 1994, in Spello) the Company was given the new name of MOTUS danza.

Under this name, the company started a full activity collaborating with the Siena Municipality and with the Tuscany Foundation of Spectacles as well as with ARTEUROPA FESTIVAL, that was the co-producer of the play State zitti se potete, in 1998.

In 2000, Simona Cieri founded as Artistic Director, the International Centre of Art in Siena, where the MOTUS Company works and a program of courses is in place. Nowadays the Centre is a known dance school with interdisciplinary character where the students can learn all artistic disciplines linked to theatre and dance, and can study in stages conducted by internationally recognised teachers and Maitre de Ballet.

MOTUS danza tour extensively to all major theatres in Italy and abroad and by invitation to international festivals.

The choreographic style is original and rich in contaminations and uses multimedia expression.

Whether in abstract dance or dance theatre, they produce work that has theatrical and emotional impact.

Performance:
Confini (translation BORDERS) uses a multimedia language made of bodies, music and images.  The main aesthetic choice is the continuous interaction between the images and the movements on the stage. In this sense, the space available for the performance is amplified because the action can start in the video and continues on the stage or can start on the stage and continues in the video. This choice is also linked to the argument because borders can be present in the work or can disappear.
Quite all images are elaborated and choreography and video are absolutely complementary one to the other. The result has a strong visual impact and the audience has sometimes difficulties in distinguishing what is real and what is virtual.
